Hi, I’m Beth from Toronto, Canada and welcome to Gingersnap!
Gingersnap is a blog inspired by my love of travel, food, photography, and of course, being a ginger 😉
I was bitten by the travel bug after I spent a semester studying abroad in Glasgow, Scotland. Thanks to my incredible experience in Scotland, after graduating from uni I decided to ditch the books and do a two year working holiday in London, England.
People often ask me, “What was your favourite part about living abroad?” Yikes! Who knew such a simple question could be so difficult to answer?! Weekdays spent amidst the hustle and bustle of London working life. Weekends spent making the most of London’s renowned pub culture. Holidays spent gallivanting around Europe and trying not to get sunburnt (#gingerproblems). Moving abroad fostered a sense of wanderlust and independence that cannot be described in a single “favourite part.” I returned from overseas with an infinite supply of invaluable memories, stories and photographs – so many that I just didn’t know what to do with all of them. Well, when in doubt, start a blog!
By sharing my experiences with you – my tastiest meals, my quirkiest stories, my fondest memories – I hope to give you some insight into why I love to travel so much, and instill in you the guts to do something fearless like, I don’t know, move to England or something!
It’s been over a year since I returned to snowy Toronto after finishing my working holiday. But I won’t be staying here long. I’m happy to announce that in a few weeks I will be moving BACK to London to continue my UK adventure! I would love for you to follow along as I embark on this new chapter in my life.
If you would like to follow me on my Gingersnap travels, I would be forever grateful! Please follow me on social media below:
